University Boulevard Retail Rehabilitation

Podolsky designed the University Boulevard Retail renovation of approximately 14,000 SF of retail area that had last been remodeled in the late 1960s. The non-profit foundation which derives income from this area for philanthropic use saw declining revenues and decaying structures, and felt it was time to re-energize the area.  After concluding a detailed study, it was decided to revert the architectural style to the original design character of the 1920s. A rich use of red brick was selected for the exterior while updated mechanical and electrical systems were fitted within the original structural framework.
